Elvin Virl Bradley, 91, of Dover died Wednesday, June 2, 2010, at River Valley Medical Clinic in Dardanelle. The son of James and Colorado Rado Cotton Bradley, he was born Jan. 26, 1919, in Tilley. He was a United States Army Veteran of World War II. He was a Laborer. The Martin-Bradley VFW Post 3246 in Morrilton was honored with his name. He was a Lifetime Member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2283 Russellville. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening. Elvin also loved spending time with family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Lila M. Moberly Bradley; second wife, Virginia Rudder Bradley; daughter, Erma Lee; an infant son, and son, James Virl Bradley; grandson, Gregory K. Bradley and several other family members.

He is survived by a daughter, Katherine Zimmer of Dardanelle; adopted son, Trenton Bates and wife, Sherry of Wheatcroft, Ky.; stepsons, Bobby Ray Bradley of Subiaco, and Doug Bradley and wife, Lee of Russellville; stepdaughter, Sharon Bourque and husband, Sonny of Lake Charles, La.; 13 grandchildren, Jeri Lynn Striplin and husband, Michael of Newella, Okla., Josh Bradley and Thomas Bradley of Subiaco; Ginger Bradley and Amanda Bradley of Russellville; Hank Bradley of Dardanelle; Sue Bradley of Oklahoma City, Okla., Thomas Bradley of Bethany, Okla., Crystal Shelton and husband, Brian of Clay, Ky., Telissa Istre and husband, Nathan of Lake Charles, La., Hailey Benson, Kendall Benson and Jonathan Bates of Wheatcroft, Ky.; 14 great-grandchildren, Justin Bradley of Russellville, Brittney A. Bradley of Russellville, Shelby Thompson of Newella, Okla., Payton Striplin of Newella, Okla., Logan Striplin of Newella, Okla., Jordan McKenzie of Fort Campbell, Ky., Jacob Montes of Oklahoma City, Okla., Kadyn Istre of Lake Charles, La., Peyton Istre of Lake Charles, La., Kaylee Istre of Lake Charles, La., Kimberly Shelton of Clay, Ky. and Kaden Shelton of Clay, Ky.; great-great-grandchildren, Blaze Bradley of Russellville, and Brodee A. Graveside funeral service and burial will be 2 p.m. today at New Hope Lost Corner Cemetery in Hector by Humphrey Funeral Service. Devoe Campbell will officiate. Military honors will be provided by Rogers Rye Post No. 2283 of the VFW. Visitation was 6-8 p.m. Friday.
