Anthony was the son of Samuel Bitcon and Lena Swanson. He married Grace Lulu Martin on 08 Aug 1903 in Madison County, Ia. They were the parents of Eva and Lova. He married 2nd Louise Mikesell on May 8, 1928 at Papillion, NE. They were the parents of Anthony and Maurice.

April 19, 1935 - Carroll Daily Herald - Anthony (Tony) Jared Bitcon, 51 year old Carroll resident, died this morning at 9 o'clock of pneumonia at St Anthony hospital. He had been ill since the first of the week and was removed to the hospital Tuesday morning from the Mrs. O.L. Sanborn home at 518 West eighth street

Tony Bitcon was born July 16, 1883 at Greenfield, Ia., the son of Samuel and Lena Bitcon. On May 8, 1928, he was united in marriage to Louise Elnora Mikesell at Papillion, Neb. Shortly after their marriage they moved to Council Bluffs, where Mr. Bitcon was employed by the railroad company as boilermaker. They also lived at Missouri Valley and Escanaba, Mich., before coming to Carroll about four and a half years ago.

Mr. Bitcon, a boilermaker by trade, had been employed during his 25 years service as boilermaker by the Union Pacific North Western and Great Western railroads.

Surviving are his wife and child, Anthony Jared Bitcon, Jr., besides two children by his former marriage, (Eva) Mrs. Eakin of Sioux City, Ia., and (Lova) Mrs. Kenneth Fredregill of Des Moines. He also leaves several brothers and sisters, Rodney of Greenfield, Ia., Lloyd of Des Moines, Samuel of Omaha, Roy of Roosevelt Long Island, New York, (Artie) Mrs. Rex Tretebler of Kellerton, Ia., and (Agnes) Mrs. Arthur Mason of Orient, Ia.

His mother died in October, 1928 and his father passed away in February 1922. A son, Morris La Vert Bitcon died July 28, 1933 at the age of nine days.

Mr. Bitcon attended the Presbyterian church and was a member of the Brotherhood of Boilermakers. The body is at the Huffman Funeral Home and will probably be taken to the Sanborn home on eighth street early Sunday. Funeral arrangements are not yet completed. R.A. Mikesell and son, John, of Cedar Rapids, arrived early this noon to attend the funeral services. Mr. Mikesell is the brother of Mrs. Sanborn and Mrs. Bitcon.

Buried in City cemetery.
