She leaves behind three sons, Michael (Cinny) Heib of Painted Post, NY, Martin (Meggie) Heib of Rye Brook, NY, Daniel (Joan) Heib of Victor, NY. and five grandchildren, Ainsley Heib, Evan and Adele Heib, and Christine and Katherine Heib. She is predeceased by her parents Harry and Margaret (Clancy) Backer, brothers Daniel, John, and Robert Backer and sister Margaret (Backer) Wrigley. She is survived by her brother Harry (Bugs) Backer of Elmira, NY, her sister Elizabeth (Joseph) Danaher of Horseheads, NY and many nieces and nephews. Cassie was a loving and proud mother and grandmother. She loved to quilt and was a member of several local quilting guilds. She was a life-long member of the Catholic Church and All Saints Parish in Corning, NY. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass on Wednesday February 10, 2010 at St. Mary Our Mother Church in Horseheads, NY at 1030 am. Interment in St. Peter and Paul's Cemetery in Elmira, NY at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions can be made in her name to The American Red Cross or a charity of your choice.
