MISS CALLIE TERRELLA McWHIRTER, 69, OF Pembroke, Ga. formerly of Fort Lamar, died Wednesday, October 30th. in a Savannah Hospital following a brief illness.
A native of Madison County, she was a retired editor for the Georgia Center for Continuing Education and a member of Phi Betta Kappa. She previously taught in the public school system in Athens.
The funeral was held Friday at 2:00 P.M. at Liberty United Methodist Church, Fort Lamar. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Survivors include a brother, O.M. McWhirter of Lakeland; 2 nephews and a niece.
