LYNN - Edith M. Broughton, 96, of 81 Vernon St., died Monday in the J. Robert Shaughnessy Hospital, Salem. She was the widow of John Clarence Broughton.
Born in Marblehead, she was the daughter of the late Augustus P. and Julia (Hunson) Henderson. Mrs. Broughton was active in the Wesley United Methodist Church of Lynn.
Mrs. Broughton is survived by one son, Frank S. Broughton of Fremont, Calif.; two daughters, Mrs. George (Ruth) Garian of Lynn and Mrs. Thomas (Phyllis) Madden of Fremont, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Sumner (Marguerite) Bailey of Danvers; 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial funeral service will be held in the Wesley United Methodist Church, Euclid Avenue, Lynn, Sunday at 2 p.m.
