Cody W. Adkins, 26, of Bandera, died Monday, June 9, in University Hospital, San Antonio. He was born Oct. 1, 1976, in Slaton. He attended school in Idalou and graduated from Cooper High School in 1995. He served in the U.S. Army as a medical technical from 1996 to 1998. He had worked for Becknell Wholesale in Lubbock and was an independent building contractor in Bandera, specializing in welding and carpentry.
Survivors include his mother and step-father, Kathy and Gerald Persyn Jr. of Bandera; father, Tommy Weaver of Lubbock; one son, Jaden Hawk Adkins of Lubbock; two brothers, Jody Wilkins of Lubbock and Karl Adkins of Bandera; maternal grandfather, Buster E. Wilkins of Slaton; paternal grandmother, Mary Howard of Woodrow; and paternal step-grandparents, Gerald and Mary Ann Persyn Sr. of Bandera.

Graveside services were held Thursday, June 12, in Englewood Cemetery with Rev. Chris Downer officiating. Burial followed in Englewood Cemetery.
