Clyde Monroe Fisher, 86, of Hickory passed away October 15, 2012. Born October 18, 1925 in Catawba County, he was the son of the late Perry Gordon Fisher and Addie Lee Whitener Fisher.
Mr. Fisher was a member of Faith United Church of Christ. He served in the US Navy during WWII. Mr. Fisher retired twice from MDI; the second time at age 80. A loyal member of the VFW, Mr. Fisher loved to dance and watch Braves Baseball and Carolina basketball. He also loved family gatherings, especially at Christmas.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Ralph Fisher and Joe Fisher; and 1 sister, Vada Fisher Yoder.
The funeral service will be Friday, October 19th at 2:00pm at Faith Evangelical and Reformed United Church of Christ with the Rev. Dr. Harry Griffin officiating. Burial, with military honors, will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. Mr. Fisher's grandson will play taps.
