William Witherspoon, son of John and Margaret (Kennedy) Witherspoon was born June 18, 1816. Married Emeline (Emily) Ramsey, who was born about 1823 in Pennsylvania and died August 30, 1907 at Mt. Jackson, Pennsylvania. William is known to have lived in the Darlington area in the northwest corner of Beaver County, Pa. John Witherspoon is said to have bought a farm for his son when he married.
