He died at Memorial Hospital, Towanda. He was a son of Robert and Maude Smith Allis.


Lyndon attended the Towanda High School and on July 29, 1930 married Martha Hunsinger in Waverly, NY. Mr. and Mrs. Allis were residents of East Towanda for many years and for the last three years of Lyndon's life made their home in Rome Township.


Mr. Allis was formerly employed by the Wysox Creamery for several years and was later employed by Ingersoll-Rand in Athens for over 33 years, retiring in January 1974. His main interest in life were in his home and family. Lyndon enjoyed wood-working projects, especially for his family. He was well-known too for his handmade hooked rugs. Mr. Allis was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Towanda and was a life time member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 1367, Towanda.


Surviving were his wife, Martha Hunsinger Allis at home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sherry and Manville Cook of Wysox RD2 and Roberta and Walter Sabitus of Ulster RD 1; three sons and daughters-in-law, Jack and Mary Lou Allis of Ulster RD 2, Richard and Judy Allis of Dryden, NY and Ronald and Thelma Allis of Ulster RD 2; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by a grandson, Tom Cook in 1962 and by a great-grandson, Aaron Cook in 1975.
