Mr. Harold Eugene Gene Arthur, 76, died peacefully at White Oak Manor in Spartanburg, Wednesday, November 10, 2004 at 2:39 p.m., following a long period of declining health. He will be with his Lord and his wife, the late Joyce Morris Arthur, on her birthday, November 11, 2004.
He was a Christian man, who was loved dearly by his family and friends. Mr. Arthur was born in Union on May 14, 1928, a son of the late Paul Wilson Arthur and Kate Shetley Arthur. He was predeceased by two brothers, Bill and Gary Arthur. Mr. Arthur worked most of his life in textiles and was and was a Veteran of the United States Army. He was a charter member of Morningside Baptist Church of Union.
Surviving are two daughters and their husbands, Melinda and James Magarahan, of Surfside Beach and Beverly and Ronald James, of Union; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.
