Born in rural Sibley, Ford Co. IL, youngest of five children of Hans and Teba von Brethorst Anliker, he married Clara Mae (Peggy) Fulton in 1937. They had two children.

Siept met Peggy at a weekly square dance held at the Sibley Town Hall, where his father often entertained with yodeling. Siept was also very talented, playing both guitar and harmonica.

The couple began farming south of Sibley, moved across the road in 1947 and then in 1960 moved three miles east of Sibley where they lived until moving into town in August, 1968 because of Siept's health.

The Pantagraph November 1, 1970

SIBLEY - The funeral of Siept Alfred Anliker, 58, a lifelong resident of Sibley and a retired farmer who died Friday at Outlook Sanitarium, Urbana, will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at St. John's Lutheran Church.

The Rev. William Heinzig will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Lamb Funeral Home in Gibson City. Mr. Anliker will be taken to the church at noon Monday.

He was born March 26, 1912, at Sibley, a son of Hans and Teba Brethorst Anliker. He married Clara Mae Fulton Feb. 28, 1937. at Sibley.

Surviving are his wife; a son, Lynn, Villa Grove; a daughter, Mrs. Judy Helm, Earlham, Iowa; two grandchildren; a brother, John, Sibley.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters.

Mr. Anliker was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Sibley.
