Brett Sagehorn, age 53, of Joplin, formerly of Monett, passed away on Aug. 1, 2011.
Services will be held at a later date.

The complete paid obituary was published in the Aug. 8-9 issue of the Monett Times Newspaper.
Brett passed away partly as the result of heat exhaustion .
His stone is in front of His parents stone.
I think Brett has a son Tyler .

The Joplin Police Department has confirmed the identity of a homeless man who is believed to have died Monday of causes that included the extreme heat.

The man whose body was found outside the former Burger King restaurant at 1710 S. Maiden Lane was Brett Alan Sagehorn, 54, according to police. He is believed to be the first Jasper County victim of the heat wave afflicting the region.

The Jasper County coroner said Tuesday that he intends to list heat and alcoholism as contributing factors in the death of Sagehorn.

He specifically cited dehydration and multiple organ failure.
