Mary was known for her expertise in cooking. The family enjoyed many holidays over the years at Mary's table partaking of her fabulous cooking. She lovingly compiled a cookbook for her children and grandchildren with many of the favorite family recipes written in her own hand. Mary was known in the community as an excellent seamstress, doing alterations and sewing for the public from her home. She lovingly pieced and hand quilted, custom quilts for each of her children and grandchildren. Mary inspired her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren with her creative abilities by passing on her skills in cooking, quilting and sewing. We will see her in every quilt, crocheted item and holiday dish in years ahead. She will be greatly missed.
Funeral services were held at Mount Carmel Baptist Church. Burial was at Mount Carmel Cemetery under the direction of Moore's Cabot Funeral Home and Crematory.
