Services Held at Brookings July 18 for Mrs Sadie G Smith.
Mass of the Resurrection for Mrs Sadie G Smith, 85, former Rockham resident, was held Wednesday, July 18, at St Thomas More Catholic Church, Brookings, with the Rev Odo Gogel officiating.
Mrs Smith, who was born November 23, 1887, at Tama City, Iowa, to James T and Mary Mulligan, died Monday, July 16, at a Brookings hospital. She married Fred E Smith November 28, 1912, at Condie.
Coming to South Dakota in 1898, Mrs Smith lived in Aurora and Ferney before moving in 1927 to Rockham, where she resided until 1941. She then lived at Brookings until entering the Parkview Nursing Home, Volga, in May 1972.
Survivors include a son, Glen J, Brookings; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs Bess Eulberg, Seattle, Wash.
Preceding her in death were her husband in 1928 and a daughter, Mrs Margaret Hoy.
