No death date listed.Gladys E. Allen, 82, a resident of Crow Mountain, died Wednesday, December 19, 2007, at the Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center.

The daughter of A. J. and Annie Mae Bone Latham, she was born October 13, 1925, at Hector. She was a longtime checker at the old I. G. A. store in Russellville and later opened her own gas and grocery at 124 and Weir Road, now Taylor's. She was a member of Maple Springs Free Will Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, L. B. Allen; two sons, Jerry and Jackie Allen; three brothers, Robert E. Lee Latham, Meredith Lee Latham, and Grady Latham; and two sisters, Ollie Latham and Lola Latham.

Survivors include five brothers, George, Glen, Billy, Brooks, and Bobby Latham; a sister, Donella Benhan; a son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Anita Allen of Russellville; a daughter-in-law, Carol Land Allen of Russellville; eight grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, December 22, 2007, at the Maple Springs Free Will Baptist Church on Crow Mountain with the Rev. Leon Hill and the Rev. David Downum officiating. Burial will be in Hill Cemetery at Appleton under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service.

The family will receive friends from 6 – 7 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.
