Bertha Paralee (Whitmire) Bookout Durant Daily Democrat Durant, OK Monday, April 9, 1990 Service will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday in Durant's First Pentecostal Church for Bertha P. Bookout, 90, of Durant. She died Saturday in Medical Center of Southeastern Oklahoma. The Rev. L. C. South will officiate. Burial will be in Caddo Cemetery. Murray Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Born August 5, 1899, in Arkansas, Mrs. Bookout was a homemaker who lived most of her life in Bryan County. She was married to Fred Bookout in 1916. He preceded her in death April 23, 1973. Survivors include a daughter, Ruth Maples of Kenefic, three grandsons, Royce, Danny and David Maples, eight great grandchildren and one great- great grandchild. Other survivors are sister Cleo Smith and Winnie Speaks of Kenefic and a half-brother Eddie Whitmire of Kenefic. Bearers are David, Royce, Danny,Tony and Richy Maples and Danny Maples, Jr. Family hour is 7-8 p.m. at Murray Chapel.
