Born Sept. 17, 1920, in Decatur to Henry and Eva Mae Wood Rinehart, he married Gladys A. Hubbart on June 20, 1942, in Peoria. She died March 18, 1997, in Peoria.
He also was preceded in death by three sisters, one brother and one grandson.
He married Jean Ehrler on Sept. 17, 1999, in Peoria. She survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Brenda (and Chuck) Copeland of Washington, Ramona Stuart of Peoria and Cynthia (and Jimmie) Humphrey of East Peoria; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
A World War II veteran, he served in the China-Burma-India Theater. He was with the Army Signal Corps, with which he patrolled the telephone line from Ledo to Kungning, China. He then was on detached service, driving a British captain.
He worked for Caterpillar Inc. for 30 years, retiring as an electrician on May 31, 1978. He then owned and operated Rinehart Electrical Service for 27 years.
He was a lieutenant in the Peoria Civil Defense.
He was a member of Berea Baptist Church in Bartonville.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home. The Rev. Kenneth Linder will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens, where military honors will be accorded.
