Services for Barbara W. Coleman, 73, wife of William S. Coleman, will be held in Rogers Funeral Home at 2 p.m. today.

Mrs. Coleman, who died peacefully at her home on Friday, will be buried in the Frankfort Cemetery.

Born in Versailles on December 13, 1938, Mrs. Coleman was the daughter of the late Max T. and Katie Elizabeth Adams Woods. She spent many years in state government, working with the administrations of governors Julian Carroll and John Y. Brown and as an administrative assistant to Jim Fleming and Jackson White at the Legislative Research Commission. She was a long-time supporter of the Franklin County Humane Society and a member of the Frankfort Garden Club, the Younger Women's Club, and the First Baptist Church.

Mrs. Coleman is survived by her husband of more than 55 years, William S. "Bill" Coleman; a son, Robert J. Coleman; three sisters, Jane M. Evans, Darlene C. Ransdell, and Patricia C. White; one brother, Gayle A. Woods, and a dear friend, Mary Cull, whom the family would like to thank for her kindness and compassion.

Bearers will be Hank Hancock, Winston Rogers, Dutch Hatterick, Cecil Iglehart, Tom McBride, Roger Roberson, Dickie Dawkins, Joel Ransdell, and Paris Hopkins.

Honorary bearers will be Larry Oberlin, Ken Martin, Earl Gregory, Sonny Hunt, and Jim Stivers.

Flowers are welcome, while the family also appreciates donations to Hospice of the Bluegrass in thanks for their loving care and assistance
