Employed in 1934 as a salesman for SFK Industries, Inc. in Cincinnati OH, one the world's leading manufacturers of bearings, he was moved from Cincinnati to Detroit to Cincinnati to Philadelphia and retired as Executive Vice President in 1965 following a debilitating stroke. Stuart and Marian moved to Pinehurst NC in 1966 where Stuart died on died Wednesday, April 4, 1972, There was a graveside service at Spring Grove Cemetery, Monday, May 1, at the convenience of the family. Stuart was survived by his wife Marian of 38 years and son Stuart Hilton Smith Jr. , now of Seattle WA., and his grandson Stuart Hilton Smith III of Carlsbad CA. His wife Marian died in 1995.
