: From October 13, 1989 newspaper obit: Ruby Mae Barnett was born July 29, 1914 in Bates County, MO, the daughter of Charles & Nova (Kisner) Adams. She died Oct. 8, 1989 at the Bates County Memorial Hospital in Butler at the age of 75. On March 30, 1945 she was united in marriage to Herschell Leroy Barnett and to this union two daughters were born. She was employed at the Butler Lens Plant for over 28 years, working as a lens washer until the plant closed. Since that time she helped care for the elderly people in their homes. Mrs. Barnett was a member of the Ohio Street United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband on Feb. 28, 1985, two brothers and two sisters. She leaves her two daughters, Connie Quick of Kansas City, MO, and Lora Lee Bushard of Moses Lake, WA; one brother, Jim Adams of Butler; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The funeral was held Oct. 12 at the Underwood-Steinbeck-Schowengerdt Chapel in Butler with the Rev. Leonard Williams officiating and the burial in the Oak Hill Cemetery at Butler.
