Lurena Bernice "Dixie" Bohan, 84, of Conway, S.C., died Wednesday, March 12, 2008, at her home. She had been in failing health, but her death was unexpected.
She was born Oct. 2, 1923, at Clarksburg, a daughter of the late Okey B. and Ocie Igatha (Byrd) Howell.
On Sept. 8, 1944, she was married to Bill Bertle Bohan, who preceded her in death on Oct. 27, 1984.
Surviving are one son, John M. Bohan of Conway, S.C.; four sisters, Flora Troutman of Conway, Leota Sellers, Leeds of Alabama, Jessica Walls of Norfolk, Va., Ashley Brooks of Newark, Ohio, and Deloris Collins of Mill Creek; and four grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by one brother, Jon R. Roberts.
Mrs. Bohan was a homemaker. She was Apostolic by faith and enjoyed sewing and reading.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, March 18, from Stemple & Forman Funeral Home, 385 S. Main St., Philippi. Pastor Bryan Headley will officiate and interment will follow in Criss Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. on today and from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. , the funeral hour, on Tuesday. Stemple & Forman Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
