Elaine Swagger, age 85 of Princeton, died Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2011 at the Elim Care and Rehab Center in Princeton.
Elaine was born on September 8, 1926 to Alfred and Margaret (Oney) Larson in Colman, S.D. Her family moved to Minneapolis when Elaine was five years old.
Elaine married Joseph Swagger on March 2, 1943. They made their home in Minneapolis. Elaine worked in their dry cleaning business for many years. She also worked as a housekeeper at Mercy Hospital for almost 19 years.
Elaine retired in 1991 and moved to an apartment in Princeton. Elaine loved to work in her flower garden which she had out at her daughter and son-in-law's farm. She also enjoyed doing crafts and going shopping. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
Elaine is survived by her two daughters Sharon (Larry) Wilhelm of Princeton and Joline (Dennis) DeJong of Maple Grove; four grandchildren: Christine (Patrick) O' Hara of Edina, Steven (Cassie) DeJong of Maple Grove, Julie Hupp of Bowling Brook, Ill. and Debra (Steve) Schultz of St. Peter; five great grandchildren: Courtney O'Hara, Michael O'Hara, Libby DeJong, Josh DeJong and William Schultz; and other relatives and friends.
Elaine was preceded in death by her husband Joseph in 1973; parents Alfred and Margaret Larson; brother Lawrence Larson; sisters: Helen Lakeman and Marjorie Stamper and best friend: Loretta Wilhelm.


Funeral services were held on Saturday, Oct., 22 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Princeton.
Interment was in St. Edward's Catholic Cemetery, Princeton.
