Ruth A. Knickerbocker of Homer -- Ruth A. Knickerbocker, 81, of Coldbrook Rd., RD 1, Homer, formerly of Binghamton, died Wednesday evening at Cortland Memorial Hospital. She is survived by 3 step-sons, Eugene and Robert Knickerbocker, of Conklin; and Edward Knickerbocker, Brooklyn; one step-daughter, Mrs. Henry (Pauline) Gaffney, of Syracuse; 2 nieces, Mrs.Vivian Rupert and Mrs. Shirley Hartnett, both of Homer; one nephew, Ronald F. Bacon, of Cortland; 8 step-grandchildren and 4 great-step-grandchildren. She was a member of the Veterans World War I Barracks auxiliary, she was employed by Ansco (GAF) Binghamton for 43 years until retirement in 1960 when she moved to the Homer area. Her husband, Leon, passed away in 1975. Funeral Services 10 a.m. Saturday at Briggs Memorial Home, 11 No. Main St., Homer with the Rev. Max T. Wiant, of the First Baptist Church, Homer, officiating. Burial will be in Cortland Rural Cemetery. Calling hours Friday evening 7-9 at the funeral home.
