At a private gathering of his immediate family, Brent C. Chapin, was laid to rest at Lake View Memorial Park, Oshkosh on Monday September 10, 2012. Brent died Thursday September 6, 2012. He was born on November 4, 1948, and was the youngest child of the late Alwin and Emma Chapin. His siblings are Jerome (Karen), Greg (Sandra), and the late Janice Reynolds and Hope Enright. Brent is further survived by brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, godchildren, and the two "kids", Amanda-jo and Logan Oliver.

Brent and Kathleen (Rothe) first met in June 1966 as a blind date. Two years later they married at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on May 25, 1968, twelve days before his departure for Vietnam as a Combat Infantryman, AMERICAL DIVISION. He served a 2-year commitment in the United States Army. In 1972, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and retired as Chief Master Sergeant, Civil Engineers, after 26 years of service. Kathleen joined him with assignments to Fort Gordon, GA, Cannon AFB NM, US Air Force Academy CO, Minot AFB ND, Bitburg AB Germany, Ellsworth AFB SD, Hickam AFB HI, Laughlin AFB TX, Osan AB Korea, and McChord AFB WA. After his military service, he worked for the Air Force as a civilian construction inspector at McChord Air Force Base and retired in 2008 after 13 years.
