Mrs. Ethel Clara Martin, 83, Everest, died early today at a McLouth nursing home where she had been a patient for several months.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 P.M. Wednesday at the Everest Christian Church with the Rev. Lester Owens officiating. Burial will be in Miller cemetery near Everest with the Hagge funeral home in Valley Falls in charge.
Mrs. Martin was born Nov. 16, 1883, in the state of Iowa, a daughter of John and Mary Bonar Mathena, and had been a resident of Everest since she was a child.
She and Charles Martin were married Oct. 28, 1898, at Hiawatha.
Mrs. Martin formerly operated a restaurant in Everest.
She was a member of the Everest Christian Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Ben Greer, Valley Falls; a son Oscar Martin, Atchison; a sister, Mrs. Henry McLaughlin, Topeka; 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grand children and 4 great-great grandchildren.
