Artis George Guthery was the eighth child born to Young and Pernina Mullinix Guthery. Artis grew to manhood working on the farm and as a teamster. He married his first wife, Amanda Butler in 1868, and to this union two known children were born: William in 1869,and Lewis in 1876. Amanda died in 1881, and Artis married Emily Custer on 28 July 1884. I have no further info on her at this time. Then before 1886 Artis married Isabelle Render and to this union three known children were born: Ida M in 1886, John M in 1891 and Rebecca J in 1898.
