Rushing, Mrs. Georgia Peavy
Died at 6 p.m. Friday at the home of her
daughter, Mrs. Mike Billing in Plaquemine,
was 77 years old. Born in Lawrence County,
Miss., she had resided in Plaquemine for the
past 52 years. Was a member of the First
Baptist Church in Plaquemine since 1913.
Survived by three sons, Vernon Rushing of
Plaquemine; Walter Rushing of White Castle
and William P. Pushing of Lake Providence;
four daughters, Mrs. Ed Martin, Mrs. Mike
Billing and Mrs. Harry Barbay Sr., all of
Plaquemine, and Mrs. Paul Landry of New
Orleans; three sisters, Mrs. Katherine L.
Green of Cleveland Lake, Tex., Mrs. Pearl
Maxwell of Columbia, Miss., and Mrs. Emma
Hall of Gulfport, Miss.: three brothers,
Murdock Peavy of Port Allen, Julius Peavy
of Monticello, Miss., and Estus Peavy of
Columbia, Miss.: 31 grandchildren and 31
great-grandchildren. The bodywill be at
Wilberts's Funeral Home in Plaquemine.
Funeral services to be conducted at the
First Baptist Church in Plaquemine at 2 p.m.
Sunday with burial to follow in the
Protestant Cemetery in Plaquemine.
