William T. Heiney, "Bill," 84, passed away peacefully Oct. 11, 2012. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Born Oct. 9, 1928 in St. Joseph, Mo. to James and Ethel Heiney, he was number nine in a family of thirteen children. The family moved to Colorado in 1938 where he graduated from Regis High School in Denver. He was a good student and believed in hard work from an early age. After graduating from Regis, Bill served in the Military and attended Officer Training School where he became a lieutenant. After a long engagement, Bill married Ruth in 1953, she was the love of his life. Bill was the store manager for Miller Markets and Safeway. Spending time together with his family was his favorite past time. Bill was always singing and enjoyed dancing. He also enjoyed golf, bowling, and cribbage. His faith was very important to him. He was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Ruth Fahl Heiney; brothers, James and Robert; and sisters, Patricia, Agnes, Rosie, Marie and Francis. He is survived by his brothers, John, Joe, and Leo; sisters, Pauline and Helen; his children, Mike, Bill, Joe, Tom, Marie, Trina, Matt, and Tony, and their spouses; fourteen grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. Those who would like to celebrate the life of Bill are welcome to join his family at Holy Family Church on Thursday, Rosary at 12:30 p.m., Mass at 1 p.m. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery. Following the interment, a reception will be held at Holy Family Church Hall. Condolences can be sent to the family at 1912 Timberline Ln., Fort Collins, CO 80525. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Catholic Charities.
