Irving W. Linnes, age 86, of 2707 N. Lexington Drive #316, died Saturday afternoon, Dec. 13, 2003, at Mercy Hospital in Janesville. He was born on Jan. 29, 1917, in West Allis, WI, son of Arthur and Lillian (Munzel) Linnes. After graduating from high school he attended the Western Union School in Bloomfield, NJ. Irving was the manager of Western Union Janesville for 38 years. He was married to Ernestine Lippincott on May 11, 1985 in Rockton, IL, and has been a resident of Janesville since 1990. He was a member of the Ebenezer Moravian Church in Watertown. Irving is survived by his wife, Ernestine of Janesville; a stepson, Gerry (Becky) Lippincott of Milton; stepgrandchildren, Jennifer and William Lippincott of Milton; a cousin, Kacy Fetherson Fay of Janesville; a sister-in-law, Della (Roger) Fern-Davis of Verona, NY; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2003 at the HAFEMEISTER FUNERAL HOME, Watertown, with Rev. Bruce Nelson of the Ebenezer Moravian Church officiating. Private family burial will be at the Milton Lawns Memorial Park in Janesville. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 1:30 p.m. until the time of services at the funeral home. HAFEMEISTER FUNERAL HOME, Watertown, is in charge of the arrangements.
