Adele M. Spillane, age 93, of Bellingham, passed away January 10, 2012.

She was born September 12, 1918 in Molson, WA to Hugo and Rose DuMont and was raised in British Columbia. Adele earned her nursing degree in Victoria, served in the U.S. Army during WWII as a nurse, and continued to work in nursing in Spokane.

She loved life and lived it to the full, greatly enjoying the beauties of nature. She was well known for her gracious manner, her generosity, hospitality, and particularly for her love of family.

She was a faithful member of Assumption Parish in Spokane and later Assumption Parish in Bellingham.

Adele was preceded in death by her husband, James.

She is survived by her sisters, Sr. Louise DuMont, CSJP, of Seattle, Sr. Lucy DuMont, SSA, of Victoria, B.C., and Jeannette Sieg, of Chilliwack, B.C., brother-in-law, Noel Grout, of New Westminster, B.C., and many loving relatives and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Church of the Assumption, 2116 Cornwall Ave. in Bellingham on Thursday, January 19th at 10:30 AM, followed by a reception at the Church.
