Charles W. Ambrose, Jr. was born in Rock Gap District, Morgan County, West Virginia, USA


Parkersburg, West Virginia


On October 17, 1982, the State Council of West Virginia and the National Council lost a honored and dedicated Brother when Dr. Charles W. Ambrose, Jr. passed away.

Brother Ambrose had been a member of the Junior Order since 1928 and was a Past National Councilor and member of the Board of Control of the National Council.

Dr. Ambrose was a Methodist Minister and extremely active in both the Junior Order and his church.

Dr. Ambrose had served in more than 200 youth camps, retreats, assemblies and other youth gatherings.

Dr. Ambrose was a 50 year member and a leader in both the State Council of West Virginia and in the National Council.

Dr. Ambrose is survived by his wife Ethel; three sons: Charles J. Ambrose, William B. Ambrose, Dr. Kenneth P. Ambrose and one daughter Pat. L. (Mrs. Charles R. Campbell).

The Junior Order memorial service was held at the Vaughan Funeral Home in Parkersburg, West Virginia on October 20, 1982. The eulogy service was presented by Past National Councilor, Frank C. Workman of Knoxville, Tennessee and Jr. Past National Councilor Lawrence M. Moon of Youngstown, Ohio. Also, Past State Councilor of West Virginia Greg Frye who read the scripture. Marshall's of the memorial service were State Councilor of West Virginia, Danny Collis and Charles R. Bain, Past State Councilor of West Virginia and member of the National Board of Control.

Burial was at the Wallace Memorial Cemetery, Clintonville, West Virginia on October 21, 1982.

The National Council and the State Council of WEst Virginia will miss greatly the knowledge and leadership of Dr. Charles W. Ambrose, Jr.


Proceeding him in death were his first wife Henrietta (Trandle) Ambrose and his parents Charles W. & Fannie M. Ambrose.
