Son of Peter Fisher (Oct. 1, 1777-Apr. 7, 1866) and Lydia Oakley (Mar. 6, 1790-June 6, 1880) both buried in Dubois Cemetery, Battle Creek, MI.

He moved with his parents about 1840 from NY state to Oakland County, MI. In 1862 he
moved with his wife and two young children to Ellington Township in Tuscola County.
Here he cleared the farm, built his home and other buildings and found time to do
work at both the carpentry and blacksmith trades

George married Sept. 22, 1859 in Rose, Oakland, MI to Frances/Fannie Carew,
(1843-1901) daughter of Samuel Carew and Ann Walters.

Cause of death for George - senile paresis.

They had two children:
(1) Susan (Charles McDurmon)
(2) William H. (Martha Almira French)
