Katherine Lorene Zell, 95, of Shelbyville died Friday, Oct. 12, 2012, at Major Hospital.
She was born May 4, 1917, in Shelbyville to John and Grace(Alley)Bennett. She married Ra;ph Zell on Jan. 13, 1933, and he preceded her in death July 26, 1981.
Survivors include two daughters, Donna Jean Gebhart of North fort Myers, Fla., and Sharon McLane of shelbyville; daughter-in-law, Kathy Zell of Fairland; and seven grandchildren, Mark Gebhart, Lisa(James) Lawson, Terri(Jeff)Gearlds. Amy McLane, Randy Zell, Tammy Ensminger and Rita Bowers.
She was preceded in death by her parents; spouse; son, Donald Zell; son-in-law, Kermit Gebhart and Phil McLane; brothers, Carl, Robert and Raymond Bennett; and sisters, Martha Schuneman and Dorothy Moberly.
Mrs. Zell was a lifelong resident of Shelbyville. She had attended Shelbyville Schools.
She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church.
Mrs. Zell did private nursing care in her home. She loved traveling, reading and most of all she loved the Lord and her family very much.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 15, 2012, at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2012, at the funeral home with the Rev. Harvey Weaver officiating.
Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery.
