Florence Etta Smith (Aker) was born and raised on a farm near Jonesboro Arkansas. Her father was Henry Bradford (Dude)Smith and her mother was Mattie Vestal Hancock. Florence married Emery Mel Aker on 2 March 1939. She and her sister, LaVerne Smith married the brothers Emery Mel Aker and Jesse E Aker and lived in Jonesboro until they moved to CA in the early 1940's. She is buried with her husband and next to one of their daughter's Cynthia Lee Aker (Mills)
