Mr. Hurshel Edward Kelley, 81, of Hamburg, died Thursday, October 11, 2012 at his residence.

Mr. Kelley was a native and life long resident of Hamburg and Ashley County.

He graduated from Fountain Hill High School in 1949 and he was a veteran of the United States Army.

He worked for Georgia-Pacific in the Paper Mill for 37 ½ years.

He was an active member of the First Baptist Church for 32 years where he served as a Deacon.

He is preceded in death by a son, Marion Kelley in 2005; his parents, Frances & Eula Mae Scott Kelley and an infant brother.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Anna Ruth Stone Kelley of Hamburg; a son Scott Allen Kelley of San Francisco, California; a sister, Merlyn Higginbotham and husband, Norman, of Hamburg; a brother, Dewayne Kelley and wife, Julie, of Monticello; three grandchildren, Marion Hurshel Kelley and wife, Stephanie, of Fort Hood, Texas, Angie Rambo and husband, Courtney, of Hamburg and Josh Bakerkelley of San Francisco, California; two great-grandchildren, James Cooper Rambo and Thayer Marion Rambo; extended family, Al Ray Taylor Family, Roddy Lochala Family, Pat Fitts Family, Mrs. Margie Hargis, Jimmy and Sharon Hargis and several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Funeral services are 2 p.m. Saturday, October 13, 2012 at the First Baptist Church with Dr. Bobby Pennington and Bro. Bob Endel officiating.

Burial will be in the Flat Creek Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Keith Edgar, Noel Dean McGilton, Joe Foote, Pat Fitts, Austin Fitts, Todd Callaway, Jimmy Murphy and Roma Stanley.

Honorary pallbearers are the members of the First Baptist Church Men's Sunday School Class.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, PO Box 352, Hamburg, AR 71646 or to the Flat Creek Cemetery Association, PO Box 265, Fountain Hill, AR 71642.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.
