Heinzen, Mathias (July 2, 1862-Feb. 19, 1933 –second husband of the widow Josephine Kautzer Fischer [married Jan. 21, 1890 at St. Gregory Catholic Church in St. Nazianz, Town of Eaton] –son of Joseph Peter Heinzen and Katherine Beth –born Town of Eaton –on April 25, 1889 purchased from his parents the 70 acre farm centered at 20012 County C in Section 22, Town of Eaton –on Oct. 30, 1895 purchased 60 acres in the SW1/4 of Section 28, Town of Eaton –on Feb. 19, 1904 purchased the 30 acre Anton Fessler farm centered at 7404 Niles Road in Section 22, Town of Eaton –after this purchase the farmstead for this farm was likely razed –on Dec. 22, 1913, Mathias sold this 170 acre farm to George Barnard and moved to Forest Junction, Calumet County –at Forest Junction Mathias established a soft drink parlor and hotel called the Heinzen Hotel –died in Forest Junction, Calumet County –died from “arteriosclerosis –myocardial degeneration –broncho pneumonia”) –buried at St. Gregory Catholic Cemetery in St. Nazianz, Town of Eaton [buried in Section 2, Row 14, Lot 14 –stone] [marriage record Manitowoc 6-43] [death record Calumet 9-143]

MATH HEINZEN DEATH SUNDAY
Forest Junction Hotel Man Was 71 Years Old
Math Heinzen, 71, for many years proprietor of a hotel at Forest Junction, died there Sunday morning.
Mr. Heinzen's wife, formerly Miss Josephine Kautzer, died last Thanksgiving. The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Gregory's church, St. Nazianz, with burial in the adjoining cemetery.
For several years after their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Heinzen made their home at St. Nazianz. They moved to Forest Junction and established the Heinzen hotel and continued its operation up to the present time.
The following children survive; Mrs. Joe Manlick, Clarks Mills; Mrs. William Vandernberg, Forest Junction; Mrs. William Murray, Manitowoc; Miss Minnie and Edmund at home and Albert, Kaukauna.
The survivors also include five brothers, Joseph of Phlox, Peter and Anton of Manitowoc Rapids, Jake of Marshfield and Frank of St. Nazianz; and four sisters, Mrs. Joe Hecker and Mrs. Ben Gehrig of St. Nazianz, Mrs. Hans Olson of Manitowoc and Mrs. Frank Hastreiter of Cato.
