Born in Somerville, January 3, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Ivan and Leona (Thompson) Gerhardt. She received her education in the Lowell school system and was a graduate of Lowell High School class of 1943.
Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Boucher had been employed for many years as a Cash Clerk by the IRS in Andover. Additionally, the Boucher family owned and operated Boucher's Market on University Avenue in Lowell until the time of it's closing in 1985, where Mary worked many part time hours.
In her free time she enjoyed reading, word puzzles, crocheting and watching the Food Channel as well as being an avid Red Sox Fan. Her most cherished times were spent in the company of her family.
Surviving her are nine children Linda Barry and her husband Thomas of Westford, Pamela Boucher and her partner Stephen Marvill of Hudson, NH, Karen Lakis and her husband Anthony of Salem, NH, Brian Boucher and his wife Ann of Dracut, Nancy Bassett and her husband Timothy of Greenland, NH, Kevin Boucher and his wife Donna of Hudson, NH, Lisa Koyutis and her husband John of Dunstable, Donna Synan and her husband Stephen of Maynard, and Jeffrey Boucher and his wife Kathleen of Nashua, NH; fifteen grandchildren Alicia Gallo and her husband Chris, Renee Barry and her fiancee Vincent Serafino, Nicole Lakis, John Lakis and his wife Noelle, Tina Huppe and her husband Raymond, Abigail Bassett, Kyle Boucher, Kayli Boucher, Marissa Schofield, Matthew Koyutis, Colin Koyutis, Julia Synan, Sarah Synan, Madeline Boucher, and Meghan Boucher; four great grandchildren Caroline and Dylan Gallo, Mason Lakis and Lydia Reese; a sister Barbara Rawnsley and her husband William of Lowell; in-laws Roger and Irene Boucher of Westford; and many nieces and nephews.
She was also the grandmother of the late TJ Bassett and great grandmother of the late Alex Huppe.
Friends may call at DRACUT FUNERAL HOME 2159 Lakeview Avenue, DRACUT, on Tuesday from 4 until 8 PM. Her Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday at 11 AM.
