John J. Spinneweber, 79, of Bonniebrook Road, Butler, died Wednesday at his home.
Born Aug. 19, 1930, in Butler, he was the son of the late James F. and Stella Miller Spinneweber.
John was a self-employed general contractor and handyman. He operated his business out of his home since 1969. He loved working with wood and enjoyed building fine furniture. He also liked working on automobiles.
He was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church in Herman.
John's wife, Pamela J. Riding Spinneweber, who he married Oct. 9, 1993, survives him. His first wife, Esther Forcht Spinneweber, preceded him in death on August 10, 1990. His son, Larry Spinneweber, also preceded him in death in 1981.
He is survived by a daughter, Sr. Miriam Joseph, SSCJ, of Bridgeport; two stepsons Jason A. Sessoms of Portersville and Christopher L. Sessoms of Butler; a step-granddaughter, Audrey Jean; his mother-in-law, Beatrice Riding of Butler; his best buddy, Jeremy Fleeger of Butler; three sisters, Grace LeRoy and her husband, Dick, of Butler, Mrs. Rose Snyder of Butler and Dolores Nickel of Georgia; two brothers and their wives, Paul and Ruth Spinneweber and George and Alice Spinneweber, all of Butler; and numerous nieces and nephews.
SPINNEWEBER - Friends of John J. Spinneweber, who died Wednesday, June 23, 2010, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St. Additional visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church in Herman. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
