COLE, Allen Robert

Allen Robert Cole went to be with his Savior on January 16, 2011. Allen was born on February 5, 1958, in Sycamore, Illinois. He graduated from Princeton High School in 1976, Indiana University in 1980 with a degree in accounting. He was a licensed CPA and graduated with an MBA from SMU in 1992. Allen and Jane Langston Cole met in Dallas and married in 1984. Allen was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and uncle. He is survived by his wife, Jane, three sons, Alex, Davis and Wes, his parents, Marlene and James Cole of Cincinnati, OH, his brother, Bruce, and wife, Billie, of Knoxville, TN, his sister, Paula, and husband, George, of Rochester, NY, his in-laws, Dorothy and Claude Langston of Livingston, TX. The Coles youngest son, Lucas, preceded his father in death on August 12, 2007. Allen, Jane, and their children have been active, long time members of Highland Park United Methodist Church, and have been blessed by the friends and fellowship there. Allen had a servants heart and served faithfully through his church. Numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends will miss Allen. He valued his friendships and the friendships he shared through his family and was always available to lend a hand, actively support any school activity, or church outreach. He will always be remembered for his kindness and his gentle spirit. A celebration of Allens life will be held on Friday, January 21, 11am at Highland Park United Methodist Church, 3300 Mockingbird Lane. The family will receive friends in the Fellowship Hall following the celebration service. To the glory of God and His gift of eternal life and in celebration of the life of Allen Robert Cole, memorials may be made to the Lucas Langston Cole Scholarship Fund (to be renamed), Highland Park United Methodist Church, 3300 Mockingbird Lane, Dallas, Texas, 75205-2397.
