Ruby Newsum

NEW ALBANY - Ruby Estell Newsum, 83, died Sunday, May 22, 2005, at the Baptist Hosital East-Memphis, Tenn. She was born Sept. 8, 1921, in Union County to the late George and Ira Williams Swords. She was retired from Futorian Corp. She was a member of Northside Baptist Church.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the United Funeral Service Chapel with Bro. Terry Rogers and Bro. Kenny Adair officiating. Burial will be in the Vista Memorial Park Cemetery.

Survivors include her husband, William Cody Newsum; one daughter, Swanda Boyd and husband, James, of Nw Albany; one sister, Amy Black of Ingomar; two grandchildren, Brent Mauldin and Lynn Dawe; three great-grandchildren, Scotty Dawe, Stephen Dawe and Taylor Dawe.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Pallbearers will be Don Bailey, Ray Bailey, Johnny Newsum, Greg Newsum, Dean Wells and James Boyd Jr.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
