Daniel Grover Nicely Rites Set Saturday


Grover Nicely, 62, well-known Meeker resident, died early Thursday morning in a local hospital after a lingering illness of several months.

He had lived in the Payson community and in the Meeker neighborhood for about 50 years. The Nicely family home is at Payson. Services will be held at 2:30 p. m. Saturday in the Christian Church in Meeker. Reverend Chancelor, minister, will officiate, and burial will be in the Meeker cemetery.


He is survived by his wife, Eula Nicely, of the home; three sons, Charley Nicely, Meeker. Everett Nicely, Shawnee, and PFC. Robert Nicely of the Army; five daughters, Mrs. Minnie Melton, Cyril, Okla., Mrs. Ruby Anderson, Baton Rouge, La., Mrs. Edith Armitage, Meeker, Mrs. Evelyn Akins, Shawnee, and Mrs. Mabel Zukowski of Texas. Four brothers, Nathan of Drumright, John of Payson, D. G. "Babe" of Shawnee, and W. J. of Meeker; four sisters, Louise Nicely, Los Angeles, Mrs. Opal Bolt, Payson, Mrs. Maggie Burns, Seminole. and Mrs. Minnie Frazier, Shawnee. and his mother, Mrs. Matilda Nicely, Payson.

Parks Funeral borne of Prague is in charge of arrangements.
