Harry William Holley, 88, of 11655 Franklin Tpke., Chatham, VA died on Thursday, October 11, 2012 in Piney Forest Health Care after a week of declining health.

Mr. Holley was born in Pittsylvania County on August 30, 1924 a son to the late Willie Coleman Holley and Lessie Rigney Holley. He had lived all of his life in Pittsylvania County and Danville. Mr. Holley was a graduate of the former Whitmell Farm Life School. He had retired from the former Burlington Industries Halifax Division. Mr. Holley was a member of Glenwood Memorial Baptist Church and he served with the U.S. Army during W.W. II.

Mr. Holley had enjoyed his retirement by attending to his gardening and spending all of his time with his beloved wife Beulah Eanes Holley whom he married on November 27, 1946.

Along with his loving wife of the residence Mr. Holley is survived by one sister Elizabeth H. Patterson of Danville, VA, one brother Herbert K. Holley and wife Joan of Danville, VA, one special nephew Fred C. Eanes and wife Mary, two special nieces Ann Cook, Wendy H. Hall and husband William along with two other nephews and four nieces. He was predeceased by one Sister Ruth Parrish and two Brothers Julian S. Holley and Henry C. Holley.

Funeral Services will be conducted from the Graveside in Highland Burial Park on Monday. October 15, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. by the Reverend Carl Burger and Reverend Jennifer E. Holder. Military Honors will be conducted by the U.S. Army and American Legion Post 29 Honor Guard. The family will receive friends Sunday night from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the Wrenn-Yeatts North Main Chapel and at other times they will be at the residence 1655 Franklin Tpke., Chatham, VA, 24531.The family request that in lieu of flowers memorial donations be made to the Tunstall Fire and Rescue P.O. Box 275, Danville, VA 24543.
