AKRIDGE, CSM Acy William, (Ret), passed away on Sept. 24, 2012 in Tampa. Acy was in the U.S. Army from 1941 until 1974, and participated in combat operations during WWII, the Korean, and Viet Nam Wars. After retirement, Acy returned to Tampa and served as a Baliff with the Hillsborough County Sheriffs Office for eleven years. Acy left three sons; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren as he left to reunite with his loving spouse, Juanita, in heaven. A memorial service with full military honors was held at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida on Oct. 6, 2012. Family preferred donations to the Wounded Warrior's Program in lieu of flowers. He will be greatly missed and may Acy rest in peace. Stowers Funeral Home.
