Taken the July 12, 1956 issue of the Owen Leader:

Tyler Fiscus, 85, died Wednesday morning in the Clay County hospital, Brazil, following a long illness. He was born in Owen County Septe.ber 12, 1870, a son of Aaron and Mary Dyer Fiscus. His wife, Mrs. May Arney Fiscus preceded him in death, October 3, 1934.

Mr. Fiscus was a member of the Antioch Christian Church.

Survivors include two sons, David L. and George O. Fiscus, both of Coal City; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He also leaves two brothers, Zack Fiscus of Jasonville and Robert O. Fiscus of Martinsville, Ill.; and one sister, Mrs. Martha Greenwod of Jasonville.

Final rites were held Saturday morning at the Antioch Christian Church, Rev. W.J. Yocom and Rev. Herbert J. Buchanon, officiating. Interment was made in Fiscus Cemetery.
