This was her husband's second marriage; his first marriage was to Janettee's half sister, Malinda Adaline Lucas who died young, leaving two young girls. Both daughters married, had children, but they both died leaving young children behind that Janettee raised & cared for, 2 step grandchildren.

Janettee reportedly had some Indian blood, believed to be Cherokee. Lucas names and Harcrow names both have been found on the Dawes Rolls. More information is desired on this subject to connect her to her Indian heritage. This heritage is yet to be proven.
