Mrs. Emma Ruby McCuiston Adwell, age 100, a resident of the Ozone community of Rockwood, TN died Thursday, December 17, 2009 at The Bridge at Rockwood. She was born March 15, 1909 in Rockwood, TN to Fred Alvin and Emma Anna Wassom McCuiston. She was of the Presbyterian faith. Mrs. Adwell was a Red Cross volunteer during World War II, knitting a lot of sweaters to go overseas. She also taught canning during the same time in Crab Orchard and worked at K-25. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Newton William Adwell; brothers, Earl McCuiston, Tom McCuiston, Stanley McCuiston and Floyd McCuiston; sisters, Mabel McCuiston, Madge Barnes, Annabelle Dunbar, Ruth Bray, and Elizabeth Lowder.

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 18, 2009 at 7 p.m. E.S.T. from the Chapel of Evans Mortuary with Rev. Charles Kelley officiating. Graveside services and interment will be held Saturday, December 19, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. E.S.T. in the Roane Memorial Gardens in Rockwood. The family will receive friends Friday, December 18, 2009 from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. E.S.T. at the Evans Mortuary.
