Her obituary, published 22 Jul 1936 in "The Deshler (Nebraska) Rustler", page 1:
Augusta Mathilda Doehring, nee Brase, was born October 24, 1859, a t New Gehlenbeck*, Ill. At that place she received her schooling, was confirmed, and married to William Doehring, who preceded her to death in 1929.
Mrs. Doehring lived at various places, taking up a homestead in western Kansas. From there she came to Nebraska, residing at Geneva, Tobias, Hubbell, and finally at Deshler.
Mrs. Doehring and her husband were blessed with eight children, three sons and five daughters. One daughter, Mrs. Amanda Gerberding, preceded her mother in death.
She leaves to mourn her death seven children: Mrs. Clara Endorf, of Tobias; Mrs. Martha Gerberding, of Smithton, Mo.; William Doehring, of Deshler; Mrs. Nora Haake of Helvev, this state; Carl Doehring, of Superior; Paul Doehring, of Gilead; and Mrs. Pauline Werner, of Deshler; 39 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.
She died Saturday, July 18, reaching the age of 76 years, 8 months and 24 days.
Funeral services were held Tuesday morning from the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. P. Werner, and St. Peter's Lutheran Church, the Rev. W. Cholcher spoke in English and German. The male choir sang an appropriate selection. Interment was made in the church cemetery.

William and Augusta married February 26, 1884 in Collinsville, Illinois.

Their eight children were: Clara (Mrs. William Endorf), Martha (Mrs. Henry Gerberding), William (Anna Pohlman), Nora (Mrs. Henry Haake), Amanda (Mrs. William Gerberding), Charles (Minnie Zeller), Pauline (John Werner) and Paul (Gladys Havelka).
