James Willetts, 82, of 108 E. Elm St., West Frankfort, died at 7:15 a.m. Wednesday in Veterans Hospital, Marion, where he had been a patient one week. Born in England on Nov. 14, 1886, he was the son of the late Samuel and Mary Skitt Willetts. He had been in this country 60 years.

A retired miner, he was a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign. Wars of West Frankfort. His wife, the former Gertrude Atess, died in 1962.

He leaves a stepdaughter, Mrs. Kathryn Pollack of West Frankfort; a niece, Mrs. John Flint of Carnegie, Pa.; and two step-grandchildren of West Frankfort.

Burial will be in Tower Grove Cemetery, Murphysboro.
