Saturday evening Mrs. Geo. E. Haskell received a telegram from her father, Dr. S.P. Brown of Elgin, Ill., stating that Mrs. Haskell's eldest sister, Mrs. C.W. Cornell, was seriously ill. At 6 o'clock the sad intelligence came that she was dead. The shock to Mrs. Haskell on receipt of the message was very severe, especially as she had just a week previous left her sister in the full prime of young womanhood and in the best of health. The cause of the sudden death was pneumonia. Mrs. Haskell has the sympathy of many warm friends in this city.
