WHITZEL – At the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hosea Whitzel, in this city, at 3:30 p. m. Wednesday, April 9, 1902, of diabetes, Bertha Evernia Whitzel, aged 16 years. The deceased was born in Chelsea township in this county April 9, 1886, an was therefore just sixteen years old. The family removed to Geneva about twelve years ago. Vernie was attending the Geneva high school when seized by this fatal illness, which continued in a marked form but a few days. Funeral will take place from the Christian church at 2 :30 this afternoon and will be conducted by Rev. A. W. of Lincoln. The interment will be in the Geneva cemetery.
